A Princeton Christmas: For the Children of Africa Vol. 2 (Independent)
With all proceeds benefiting the United Nations World Food Program,
it’s pretty hard to find fault with the spirit of this release. It’s
likewise difficult to find much wrong with the music, a collection of
seasonally appropriate hymns sung by choral students from Princeton,
New Jersey. The ensembles include everything from children’s groups
to the Princeton University Chapel Choir, but the level of performance
is uniformly high. Which is a good thing, because listening to this
CD is as close as I’ll come to darkening the door of a church this Christmas.
