Feed
the Hungry
To warm hearts and lift spirits, pick up a copy of A Princeton Christmas:
For the Children of Africa, Vol. 2. Featuring 11 Princeton-based student
choral groups, the 18-track music compilation will raise money for needy
children in Africa through the World Food Program, the United Nations’
frontline agency for hunger relief. “Princeton boasts America’s most
impressive lineup of choirs, including some that are internationally
acclaimed,” says Tom Meagher, the organizer of A Princeton Christmas
and coordinator for the volunteer-based WFP Committee of New York.
The purchase of one CD will feed a hungry schoolchild for more than
two months. “It’s the most appreciated $20 gift you’ll give this year,”
Mr. Meagher says. The inaugural album raised more than $40,000 for the
WFP. “The proceeds from last year provided 160,000 meals, which was
phenomenal,” Mr. Meagher says, “and hopefully we’ll bring in even more
than that (this year) because the need is great.” The CD can be purchased
at the Princeton University Store (36 University Place, Princeton, 609-921-8500)
or at amazon.com and iTunes; princetonchristmas.org
